Environmental Research
Studies concerning the following have been conducted for the British Columbia Buildings
Corporation (BCBC):
- Provincial CFC/halon inventory,
- CFC/halon procurement and emissions management,
- Solid waste management,
- Biogas from water waste,
- Paper recycling,
- Paint procurement and management,
- Battery procurement and management,
- Environmental impact of plastic garbage bags,
- Synthetic oils and alternatives to hydrocarbons,
- Environmental benefits (CO2 and Nox reductions) of solar energy for many sites,
- Pilot water conservation study at the Victoria Law Courts.
Bob Landell sat on the BCBC Task Forces for CFC and halon control. Mr. Landell also
co-authored BCBC's and ASHRAE Vancouver Islands' respective stakeholder responses to
the BC Regulations on Ozone Depleting Substances. Recent work on regulations has
included performance of BC's Critical Review of the National Energy Code for Buildings,
and NRCan's Detailed Plan for NECB Training of Trades, Building Officials and Design
Professionals.
